Suicide rate rises to 57% in United States.

The suicide rate among children and young people aged 10 to 24 in the United States has risen by 57 percent in a decade.

According to media reports, figures from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) show that the suicide rate increased by 57% between 2007 and 2018.

The report revealed that suicide was the second leading cause of death among people aged 10 to 24 and 15 to 35 in 2018. Experts fear a rise in suicides in the wake of the recent outbreak of the coronavirus.

According to the report, the suicide rate is higher in the less populous states of Alaska, Montana, New Mexico, and others.
